About Mahogany
Mahogany is the southeast’s flagship: a Hopewell Residential master-planned community established in 2007 and repeatedly named community of the year as it built out. At its centre is Calgary’s largest freshwater lake — 63 acres — with two beaches, and around it a full spectrum of living: family streets, an island of estate homes, a walkable urban village, and one of Canada’s most ambitious all-in-one developments in Westman Village.
For downsizers, Mahogany deserves special attention: Westman Village’s Odyssey buildings offer 40+ adult living with resort amenities (the Village Centre’s pools, gym, workshops, and restaurants are steps away), while villas, bungalows, and lock-and-leave condos elsewhere in the community keep lake privileges without the maintenance. For families, it’s beach life with schools and shopping built in.

Shopping & everyday amenities
Mahogany Village Market and the growing West District cover groceries, restaurants, and services inside the community, while Westman Village adds destination dining (including Chairman’s Steakhouse, one of Calgary’s finest). Seton’s urban district — South Health Campus hospital, the YMCA, cinema, and big-box shopping — is one interchange away, and Stoney and Deerfoot Trail connect the rest of the city and the mountains.

Parks, playgrounds & the lake
The 63-acre lake anchors it all: two beaches (Main Beach at Mahogany Beach Club and West Beach), swimming, paddling, fishing, and winter skating, plus 22 acres of naturalized wetlands with pathway loops, splash park, playgrounds, and sports courts. The Mahogany Homeowners Association runs the beach clubs and a packed events calendar, funded by the annual HOA fee (worth budgeting for; I’ll confirm the current amount when we talk specifics).
